We need your support in making sure that an important community event continues to exist. The African American Heritage Statewide Parade and Festival on Memorial Day Weekend 2020, and is fully inclusive of all of our people.
Our Annual Parade & Festival in 2020 has the full support of Mayor Baraka and is now scheduled for the Memorial Day Weekend of 2020. We are pleased to announce that the City of Newark African Commission and the City of Newark Caribbean Commission are serving as Community Partners in this year’s Celebration. It is the goal of the organization to be committed to community service and cultural events throughout the year. This year’s theme for the Parade is “Passing The Torch: Teach, Encourage, Support!”
The African American Heritage Parade Organization (AAHPO) is a non-profit event with the sole purpose to honor, celebrate, teach and showcase our heritage, culture, talent, children, leaders and to honor freedom. The parade is a family oriented event in which our state-wide community gathers together for a safe, nurturing and exciting event.
It is my goal to see a vibrant and Festive African American Heritage Parade in downtown Newark with families from all over the state. My vision includes a multi-cultural celebration that reflects the world in which we live.
I am calling on Friends and other supporters to help in making sure that this vital cultural service continues in our community.
I would like to thank you in advance for your consideration.
